The
MFL Occupational Health Centre is dedicated to
attaining the highest level of occupational health and safety for
Manitoba workers by delivering services that improve workplace conditions
and by empowering individuals and groups to take
action on workplace health and safety issues.
Goals
To provide diagnosis
for all workers in Manitoba who believe themselves to be suffering from an
occupationally induced illness or accident.
To provide information
and expertise on occupational health and illness to workers and other interested
medical practitioners in Manitoba.
To provide medical expertise
to be used for the purpose of assisting working people in obtaining fair compensation
for injuries and sicknesses which they have incurred at their places of employment.
To provide research in
order to identify and remedy workplace health hazards in and surrounding all
workplaces in the Province of Manitoba.
To provide a centralized
location for information about occupational health, by maintaining both a
print library and computerized access to data banks on occupational health
and illness.
To perform all its services
without purpose of gain for its members, and any profits or other accretions
to the Centre shall be used in promoting the purposes of the Centre.
