New Posters & Video on Health, Safety & Wellness for Child Care Workers

When Day Nursery Centre, Winnipeg's oldest child care centre, was confronted with a growing number of staff injuries it turned to the MFL Occupational Health Centre (OHC) for assistance and information. The OHC is a non-profit community health centre specializing in workplace health and safety.

Management and workers at Day Nursery's three locations worked with staff from the OHC to develop a program to address health, safety and wellness in the workplace. The daycare centre made a number of changes to reduce health risks at work by using staff surveys, training, hazard mapping and job hazard analysis. These tools are available to share with your organization.

A new 15 minute video "A Guide to Workplace Health, Safety and Wellness" compiles the success of this project into a tool that can used by others in the child care field. Video Order Form.
